I honestly doubt you will ever find another set like this again. It’s a beautiful and increasingly rare 1930s Harmony Art Deco parlor guitar, rich in both character and provenance. This piece was discovered during a house clearance auction in Birmingham, England. It comes with a remarkable history—its original owner purchased it brand new in 1938. Even more compelling, the guitar is accompanied by its original hard case, which still contains the original sales receipt dated 22nd December 1938. This was issued by E.F. Allen & Sons of Kidderminster. Also preserved within the case are period accessories and documentation, including a later receipt for a guitar capo, Black Diamond strings, and a vintage tuning pipe—offering a charming glimpse into its life and use over the decades.
The instrument itself remains in wonderful condition for its age, clearly having been well cared for. It has recently been professionally restrung and set up by a guitar technician, ensuring it plays as beautifully as it looks. It is a rare model that I cannot find another of, with the fretboard markers being lovely inlaid styles. It’s a beauty!
