Vintage 1973 Fender Stratocaster Tobacco Sunburst Guitar

Vintage 1973 Fender Stratocaster Tobacco Sunburst Guitar

In 1954, Fender introduced a new line to their already strong catalogue – the Stratocaster. There were many small, incremental changes to the design that reached towards the sale of Fender to CBS in 1965. This version of the Stratocaster was one of the first of the CBS era and is an iconic version that holds such history, along with a brilliant investment to take into the future.

This is no exception to the rarity and build-quality of these early Stratocasters.

Service History

We pride ourselves on the service of each guitar. We clean and set up our guitars making them ready to plug in and play.

Cosmetic Inspection

This one is naturally roadworn, as you can see. It’s an absolute beauty! There are knocks to this guitar giving it that SRV style. There has been some other machine heads added in the past, leaving two very small holes. The original machine heads have now been reinstalled and they look amazing! None of the knocks and bumps affect playability.

Originality

We had the guitar inspected and we can confirm it is all original except the volume pot and knob (1980s Japanese Pot). This can easily be replaced if needs be.

Summary

Overall, this is a very rare and collectable guitar. Not only is this sure to increase in value year on year, but also it can be an enjoyed investment.

The Music Locker prides itself on offering vintage and collectable pre-owned instruments and equipment (the Products).

We take all reasonable steps to ensure the equipment has been inspected by a competent person in the UK to ensure it complies with UK safety standards. This may mean it does not comply with the current standards in the country in which it will be subsequently used. It is the purchasers’ responsibility to ensure it is inspected by a competent person knowledgeable with the relevant electrical safety standards within that country, prior to connecting to any live electrical circuit.

It is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all items as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, frets, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the item is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.

The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised.
