Vintage 1968 Marshall JMP 50 Plexi Guitar Amplifier Head 1960s
I’m so excited to offer this beauty for sale. A genuine example discovered local to myself in the Midlands. It’s an original 1968 Marshall JMP 50, plexi panels, and uncirculated for 30+ years. It’s internally in wonderful condition with two original transformers (784-139 & 1202-118) and one original choke. The EL34 valves are a pair of original Mullards, and the ECC83s are original Brimars. It has a huge sound, what you would expect from original internals.
The previous owner found this with the original owner back in the early 1990s, and had it serviced straight away at Marshall. They replaced the front Plexi panel (which was cracked) for a reissue panel available at that time, a replacement logo, and the knob end caps to make it more ‘complete’. Obviously this is now frowned upon, but back in the 1990s, it was what Marshall did. So, this is internally original, but externally has a few replacements. My tech has had this on his bench for the first time since the 1990s, and some bits needed replacement on the circuitboard, including the mains capacitors, and it’s now ready to go. It’s a truly rare and stunning amplifier. I’ve priced this to sell considering the front panel. Please see the pictures below as these form part of my description – grab a bargain!
