Vintage 1979 Marshall JMP MK2 Master Lead 100w Amplifier Head Mournblade
This is not just a wonderful amplifier, but it’s part of NWOBHM history. This one being owned by the MK1 band member of Mournblade, Phil Jones. This can be seen in various bits of footage of the day, and contributed to both live and studio work. The amplifier itself is a wonderful 1979 Marshall Master Model MK2 Lead 100w that is totally original inside including all three transformers. It’s been regularly serviced and sounds great.
It’s had a brand new quad of JJ EL34 added lately as the other ones were worn down, but the pre-amp valves are majority original. Cosmetically tired from many years of gigging, as you can see, with the Mournblade stencil to the rear. It’s recently been serviced by a leading UK amp tech, so is ready to go. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.
