Vintage 1971 Marshall Super Lead 100w Original Purple Amplifier Stack
You will not find another like this! Found in Germany, an original 1971 Marshall Super Lead 100w amplifier (model number 1959) and matching 4×12 cabinet, both in original purple tolex, and all in nice and original condition. It’s almost unheard of! The head is a mid-1971 Super Lead, with the rarer seen Drake transformers. The mains transformer is an original Drake 1209-3, the output transformer is a Drake 1201-99, and the original choke. This is a very rare layout, only used for a few months in 1971, and all original to the amplifier. The EL34 quad is a matched set of TAD replacements, and the 3x ECC83 are a mixture of original and period correct replacements. The circuit board is relatively untouched, with only the absolute necessary components ever changed over the decades. It’s a truly special head, unmolested and in original purple.
Added to this is the matching Marshall 4×12 Basketweave cabinets, model number 1935, in original purple again. The speakers inside are special too, including 3x original April 1970 G12M T1511 25w Celestion’s, and one period correct replacement April 1969 G12M T1221 25w. All have their original cones, the 3x T1511 have the 014 cones, and the T1221 has the 003 cone. They all sound incredible! Together, they make a perfect matched pair original purple tolex Marshall Super Lead 100w. Honestly – you will not find another like it again.
