Vintage 1970s Laney Sound Supergroup Era LC50 Guitar 2×12 Amplifier Combo
Vintage 1970s Laney Sound Supergroup Era LC50 Guitar 2×12 Amplifier Combo
A very special piece of history right here. I was contacted by the wife of the original owner from new on this, and managed to purchase both this and another similar from her. The amplifier itself is an early one from Laney, and dates to around 1970. It shows Laney’s early use of the wonderful Partridge transformers. This example is in great condition and works a treat. Before I got it, the speakers were replaced and it has a pair of McKenzie 12″ speakers in it now. I would highly recommend replacing these upon receiving the amplifier – they’re not the best suiting, and the bottom one has a slight bit of rub to it.
Otherwise original including the three Partridge transformers that work very well. The EL34 pair are a replacement pair of TAD, and the ECC83s are a mixture of period and original. It’s a true rarity, and priced to sell. If you’re wanting a piece of British amplifier history, this is the amplifier for you! This amplifier has been serviced to a playable & safe standard by one of our leading amp techs. Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description.
