Vintage 1969 Marshall Bluesbreaker Tremolo 50 JMP 2×10 Amplifier Combo
This wonderful and crazy thing was recently unearthed in Europe, where it had been for some time. It is a 1969 Marshall Tremolo 50 chassis (THE Bluesbreaker chassis!), fitted inside a 1970s 2×10 Selmer combo box with later Celestion 10” speakers. I found this in Europe, where it had been all its life. It has the European sticker to the inside, stamped in Toulouse. The previous owner remembered buying this chassis off of an older gentleman who had thrown away the ‘big box’ and kept the chassis.
The Bluesbreaker box was long gone unfortunately, and he then installed it in the box you see here – a 1970s Selmer 2×10 combo box. The 1202-164 mains transformer is original, but the side end bell has been removed to fit it into this box, hence why it looks odd. It’s got the three original transformers (1202-164 & 784-139), and sounds amazing after a recent full service. I’m pricing this one to sell, so get in touch if you’re looking for an original chassis at a cheaper price. You’ll not be disappointed!
