Vintage 1969 Laney Supergroup PA 60w Valve Amplifier Head
A very special piece of history right here. I was contacted when a local school were clearing out their old cupboards. This amplifier was unearthed in the back of a cupboard where it had been for decades unused. Prior to this, we found out it was used to power the school Tannoy system – super cool! The amplifier itself dates to 1969 / 1970 and shows Laney’s use of the wonderful Partridge transformers. There are a few light scuffs to the tolex, but in brilliant condition. The three Partridge transformers work very well and are all original to the amplifier.
The valve include a matched pair of period EL34s and a full set of 4x original Brimar ECC83s. If you’re wanting a piece of British amplifier history, this is the amplifier for you! Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.
