Vintage 1966 Selmer Taurus Sixty Transistor 2×12 Amplifier
Vintage 1966 Selmer Taurus Sixty Transistor 2×12 Amplifier
This is an extremely rare amplifier – one of Selmer’s first dabbles into the transistor amplifier. This was only produced for a couple of years, later changing to the ‘Saturn 60’ and then discontinued in 1970. Tremolo and reverb were controlled on each individual channel, and the extremely rare Goodmans Audiom 61 speakers.
Service History
We pride ourselves on the inspection, authentication, and service of each amplifier to UK standards and regulations.
Please note that it is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all amplifiers as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the amplifier is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the amplifier in more depth upon receiving. The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised.
Cosmetic Condition
This item is in amazing condition, especially for its age. There is nothing significant to report cosmetically, as you can see in the pictures. There is wear here and there, but nothing significant.
Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description.
Originality
We believe this to be as original as you can find them!
