Vintage 1966 Park 45 Marshall JTM45 Plexi KT66 Valve Amplifier

Vintage 1966 Park 45 Marshall JTM45 Plexi KT66 Valve Amplifier

We purchased this crazy rare Park 45 head through a shop from the original owner. I have owned three of these now, and this is the earliest version being extremely close to the ‘top mount’ Park heads. Comes with white banana knobs, aluminium chassis, mustard date codes to 1964, pot codes, and the correct transformers (including an open frame RS).

At some point in 1965, Jim Marshall wasn’t happy with the distribution that he was getting from Rose Morris, who had exclusive rights to distribute Marshall products, so decided to brand Marshall under a different name. And so Park amplifiers was born through Johnny Jones, and this is one of the first ‘non-topmount’ amplifiers out there! This has a tone to die for, and is pretty much the same as a 1966 Marshall JTM45 internally.

Totally original including all three transformers, period GEC KT66s, Mullard GZ34, and Mullard ECC83s. One tone pot and valve base has had to be replaced by ourselves, as the original was solid and immovable, and the original can capacitor has been replaced. Unfortunately the previous owner changed the original Bulgin plug for a newer IEC and cut the chassis ever so slightly. He also changed a couple of the input jacks to the more common black colour as you can see.
