Vintage 1960s Park Marshall 25w Guitar Amplifier Combo

An exceptionally rare Park amplifier, and without doubt one of the rarest examples I’ve encountered. This amp was sourced from the south coast of England. Purchased directly from its long-term owner of many decades, and is not something you see come up—if at all. It shows the randomness of the Park-era, with a leather strap handle, and the sunken valves into the circuitboard. Something I’ve seen just once before on an old Park 150w from the same era. The T1757 speaker is a good indication of the age. Being a ‘pre-rola’ Celestion, so this is latest April 1971, but likely to be circa 1969/1970 in my opinion.

Visually, it has everything you’d want: the unmistakable blue grille cloth that defines the classic Park aesthetic, paired with silver metal front panels. Around the back you’ll find the correct reverb and tremolo pedals, which are a rarity in themselves – often used for the Bluesbreaker amplifiers. Internally, this amplifier is equally impressive. The transformers are original and correct, though I believe the mains transformer is a very early replacement (could be wrong, as Park were using all sorts of differences back then!). The valve complement consists of 2x Harma EL34 (replacements) and 3x ECC83. The circuit board remains largely original, but has had some service work on it lately by a leading UK amp tech. A very special opportunity for the serious collector or player. I have a short video of this being used, so get in touch if you want it!

The Music Locker prides itself on offering vintage and collectable pre-owned instruments and equipment (the Products).

We take all reasonable steps to ensure the equipment has been inspected by a competent person in the UK to ensure it complies with UK safety standards. This may mean it does not comply with the current standards in the country in which it will be subsequently used. It is the purchasers’ responsibility to ensure it is inspected by a competent person knowledgeable with the relevant electrical safety standards within that country, prior to connecting to any live electrical circuit.

It is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all items as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, frets, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the item is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.

The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised.
