Vintage 1964 Fender Super Reverb Amp USA Blackface Amplifier Head

It’s not often I get to properly rescue an amplifier like this. I found this in the North of Scotland, at a house clearance auction. It was not working and in need of a huge amount of repairs. Thankfully I’ve got the world’s best tech here who fully restored this back to working order, and honestly it sounds insane! It’s a 1964 Fender Super Reverb Amp, that has been cut down from the usual heavy combo to a ‘lighter’ head version. It still retains its structure, and reverb tank too, and has been cut down quite professionally indeed.

The amplifier was changed to a 240v version alone sometime back in the 1980s, probably when the cabinet was cut down, but the mains transformer they used was wrong, so I have added a correct replacement PT from TAD (125P5DX). The output transformer and choke are the originals dating to 1964, but the reverb transformer also needed to be replaced. The valves are all newer replacements, and work extremely well. The circuitboard needed a few replacements bringing up to spec, and it now plays and sounds brilliant. It’s what you would call a ‘rescued players grade’ amplifier. If you want the sound of the Super Reverb without the price tag and weight, this is the one for you! Grab a bargain! Please see the pictures for more information as these form part of my description.
