Vintage 1983 Tokai Breezysound TTE60 TM Quilted Maple Japan Telecaster
This is one of my favourite guitars out there, weighing in at just 8.0lbs. The early Tokai guitars are built to such high quality, they even exceed Fender’s quality in my humble opinion. The colour of this, along with the bound body, make this a special guitar indeed. The custom quilted maple top – officially ‘Tortoiseshell Mahogany’ – is a rare finish that was produced in limited numbers prior to 1985. This is one of the early Tokai guitars with the ‘7okai’ spaghetti logo looking awfully similar to ‘Fender’, and the headstock shape indicating very early 1980s. It plays like a dream, and is extremely bright and resonant. There are a few light dings on this, but nothing significant at all. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.
