Vintage 1967 Marshall Pinstripe Pair 3×12 PA Guitar Cabinets

Vintage 1967 Marshall Pinstripe Pair 3×12 PA Guitar Cabinets

We honestly couldn’t believe it when we found these! Completely uncirculated since the late 1960s, when they were purchased brand new for a shop – the same shop we purchased them from all these years later. They had been used as PA cabinets for 30+ years in a practice room, where we unearthed them in mid 2018.

1967 Marshall 3×12 Speaker Columns. Yes – that is 6x working and matching 20w Celestion T1221 G12Ms altogether, complete with original cones! Originally, these would have been 4×12 columns – model 1969 – but the shop had them cut down for size (very unfortunately!). The original pinstripe cloth is all there and intact, with only two small tears, as pictured. In the past, these were completely recovered except the back panels, along with a tweeter added in each where the ‘Marshall’ logo stood. The two handle end covers are missing on each, probably resulting from the recover, but the original handle remains. This would originally have had three handles but, with the cut down, had the other two removed.

The speaker date codes – 29CM – clearly date them to 29th March 1967, along with the 003 cones in each. The condition of these are certainly not perfect, but very good. They were caked in dust when we got them, and we’ve left them pretty much the same except for a light wipe down. Quite a few scuffs to the non-original tolex too, but the things that matter – grille cloth and speakers – work great.

The rarity of this cabinet and speakers, along with the beautiful pinstripe cloth, makes this a real collectors item!

Measurements Each: 51x29x96cm and 26kg

The Music Locker prides itself on offering vintage and collectable pre-owned instruments and equipment (the Products).

We take all reasonable steps to ensure the equipment has been inspected by a competent person in the UK to ensure it complies with UK safety standards. This may mean it does not comply with the current standards in the country in which it will be subsequently used. It is the purchasers’ responsibility to ensure it is inspected by a competent person knowledgeable with the relevant electrical safety standards within that country, prior to connecting to any live electrical circuit.

It is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all items as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, frets, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the item is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the item in more depth upon receiving.

The Music Locker cannot accept responsibility for any costs of refurbishment to a standard different to the one advertised.
