Vintage 1960s Baldwin Hank Marvin Burns Signature White Guitar

Vintage 1960s Baldwin Hank Marvin Burns Signature White Guitar

1967 Serial Number / Scroll Headstock / White Finish / Rez-o-Matik Pickups / Rezo Tube Tremolo System / Bound Rosewood Fingerboard / Lined Hard Case

We found this beauty in a Liverpool studio. They’d owned it for many, many years and had purchased it from the original owner. He’d done quite a lot of modifications to it in his ownership, making it one heck of a guitar to play in the studio! What a journey it has been to authenticate!

Research shows this guitar is heavily modified cosmetically, but retains the important parts i.e. the famous Rezo-o-matik pickups and the Rezo-Tube System. The front pickguards have all been swapped out from the tortoise shell to a plain black style to match the original back guards; one having the ‘Baldwin’ logo still on it. The control knobs, strap buttons, selector switch (Fender ‘Top-Hat’ style) and vibrato baseplate trim were all changed at the same time to fit in with the new pickguard style. One bridge saddle is brass, which is completely different to the style of the others, hence changed.

The patina on the original white finish to the body is really beautiful.

There are a few crazes around, as you can see, which add an amazing character to this guitar. I think it is easy to say that the original owner loved to play around the middle of the neck – with a ‘home made’ binding replacement showing his favourite spot. We’ve left this as it is as it really does make us smile. An extremely well loved guitar, which has bedded in nicely.

This really is a wonderful, players grade guitar. Playing it is a real joy because it is so easy to play, and really sings when plugged in!

And, of course, this beauty comes with a brand new hard case.
