Vintage 1960’s Ludwig Super Classic Drum Kit Blue Oyster Pearl

These drums are in excellent condition. We have dismantled, cleaned and polished each drum and the chrome to the best of our ability.

These are classic drums, many famous drummers in the 1960s & 1970s had these, from the legendary Ringo Starr to the crazy Keith Moon.

Please see below for more details on each drum.

The 12×8 Tom (1960-1963)

The 12” tom is in excellent condition. It is a pre-serial number keystone badge. The chrome has cleaned up excellent. The lugs are in excellent condition with very little pitting. The hoops are in excellent condition with also very little pitting. The drum is fitted with a Vintage Coated Emperor on the batter and a Coated Ambassador on the Resonant side. The wrap is in excellent condition with a few very light scratches. This is also fitted with the original damper. The original tom holder has been removed early on and has been replaced with a Rogers Swivel-O-Matic Tom holder, it looks as though this was done professionally and a good job has been made of it, leaving no extra holes. Overall the condition is really good for a 50 year old drum.

The 14×14 Floor Tom (Late 1968)

The 14” floor tom is in excellent condition. It is a serial number 670882 keystone badge. The lugs have been altered slight from the original, you can see the colour difference where the original lugs were, this has been done professionally and has left no extra holes or marks. Overall the condition is really good for a 50 year old drum.

The 16×16 Floor Tom (1958-1959)

The 16” floor tom is in excellent condition. It is a Transition Period keystone badge. The original floor tom leg holders have been altered to the Rogers Swivel-O-Matic Holders, this has left no extra holes and hasn’t damage the drum in anyway. There is 4 bolts at the tom of the tom (see photos) which match up with a Rogers Cymbal holder which were attached to the tom during this period. Overall the condition is really good for a 50 year old drum.

The 22×14 Bass Drum (1960-1963)

The 12” tom is in excellent condition. It is a pre-serial number keystone badge. The chrome has cleaned up excellent. The lugs are in excellent condition with very little pitting. The hoops do have marks and some flaking of the paint as you’d expect for a drum this age, it would be and option to sand them done and repaint them but we feel the look of the hoops only adds character to the kit. The drum is fitted with a Remo Pinstripe on the batter and a Aquarian Coated Kick 2 on the Resonant side. The wrap is in excellent condition with a few very light scratches. The original tom rail has been removed early on and has been replaced with a Rogers Swivel-O-Matic Tom holder, there is a couple of small holes which have been filled in which are slightly visible. (see photos) There is also on the underneath on the bass drum two holes (one either side) which have been plug/filled and then covered with the matching wrap. These are only minor defects that do not effect anything on the bass drum at all. Overall the condition is really good for a 50 year old drum.

The snare stand pictured is not included. Instead we have a rogers tom arm.
